Attendance
At Sinnington Community Primary School, we believe that good attendance is not just important - it’s essential for your child’s success and wellbeing. Every day in school counts, helping children build friendships, confidence, and the skills they need to thrive.
Parents and carers have a legal duty to ensure their child attends school regularly.
While we recognise that occasional absence due to illness is sometimes unavoidable, we closely monitor attendance and will be in touch if a pattern of concern begins to emerge.
If your child has an ongoing medical condition, please keep us informed so we can work with you to support their needs.
Absence From School
If your child is unable to attend school, it is essential that we know promptly.
Please leave a message on the answerphone (01751 421725) It is a legal
requirement that you let us know your child’s name, their class, the reason
for absence and how long you expect them to be away from school.
Medical / Dental Appointments
Please make appointments out of school hours, however if your child needs to leave school to attend an appointment advise school as soon as possible
by bringing the appointment card.
Term-Time Holidays
We strongly discourage term-time holidays, as they disrupt learning and make it harder for children to keep up with their peers. Absences during term time will only be authorised in exceptional circumstances, at the discretion of the Headteacher. Please be aware that unauthorised holidays may result in a fixed penalty fine.
